It was a bright day, the sun blazed through the clouds, nya. It was another great day, meow. Hello the name is Xglide, Felyne Scribe, nya nya. This day I have experienced the most exciting and the most gruesome battle between two great monsters, the Tigrex and the Rathalos. Never have I seen such a battle, and in an unexpected place too: in the mountains, near Pokke village. I was lucky to record this extreme event without getting hurt. The talented Melynx Artist Terekjet, a good friend of mine, drew this picture above of the battle. And now the story begins.

I previously went by Xglide, for those who remember, because the Guild insisted that I use that name as an alias. I had a word with them and got my name changed, purr. Salutations, once again, ladies, gents, felines, and cousin melynxes, nya. I come today from the dry, dry deserts near the Village of Moga, where even the most trained of warriors faint from the spells of heat, nya. There, I witnessed a battle between the two devils of the desert, nya. And I, with my usual luck and good fortune, have been able to record these brutes fight to the death. However, it seems as I was not the only being that witnessed this battle as, soon after my return, a hunter by the name of Acelious drew this piece above, purr. Salutations, the name is Xglide, Felyne scribe, mya. I journey the treacherous land of Minegarde in search of words that are etched in the lands written by the monster, meow. Recently, the volcanoes have been written on by what reveals as elder dragons, nya. Their words cry out to me, but in two languages not one, nya nya. The Desert and the Ancient Tower have also have been written on, but not at the same time, like as in the volcanoes, purr. I speak of the dragons of the moon and sun, Lunastra and Teostra, meow. And now, I give the door to knowledge, purr.

All throughout Minegarde, a faint white glow passes through the mist. Clear skies turn cloudy, striking thunder and lightning without a single drop of rain. The streak of white that flashes throughout the lands are seen in more places than one, in the blistering heat of the desert, the molten heat of the volcano, the moist, rainy jungles, or the silent swamp. The phantom beast, wanders the land, with its prideful gazes at his own glamour. And with its passes rumor of the Phantom Beast, the Kirin.

Since my last incident at the snowy mountains, my body's been aching to go back there for some reason, nya. It was nearing spring, so I had to go fast, nya. Although the snow never melts, during the summer is when the monster activity in the snowy mountains drops rather drastically, meow. Unlike the previous two battle encounters, where one of the wyverns was not it its rightful place, this time they were, nyu. A battle between strength and speed, I'm eager to share, purr~.

Kushala Daora Ecology

The land of Minegarde is stuck with gales and storms not produced by nature, but from a dragon. Blizzards strike its cold hands across the frozen mountain while the tempests howl through the jungle. Great ice crystals left by the gaze scatter the snowy plain. A metallic glaze flashes through the lands delivering with it devastating gales. The cold-hearted beast freezes its quarry with the breath of winter and blows away its enemies with a wind stronger than any storm. Leaving behind its age, it leaves a memory of the wonder and mystery it carries with it. The legendary “Dragon of the Wind”, Kushala Daora.

Perched above darkness
floating, suspended
eyes that pierce the night
and the moon above, upon below
casting a glow, haze
over the hanging abyss.

Perched below light,
under subtle skies,
a sphere of endless wonder,
