Intro
Since my last incident at the snowy mountains, my body's been aching to go back there for some reason, nya. It was nearing spring, so I had to go fast, nya. Although the snow never melts, during the summer is when the monster activity in the snowy mountains drops rather drastically, meow. Unlike the previous two battle encounters, where one of the wyverns was not it its rightful place, this time they were, nyu. A battle between strength and speed, I'm eager to share, purr~.

The snowy mountain, which had been calling me for a while, was looking more and more tempting. So finally responding to its call, I gathered the essentials in my arcorn pack (what I call the acorn pack, that the felynes carry around), and after leaving a note for the Guild Manager at the Guild Hall, I left.
At the base of the mountain, spring flowers were already beginning to bloom. I stopped for a bit to admire the approaching-spring's magic. Just then I got a cold chill. Not the one that's caused by a cold wind, but one that is caused by a disturbance in the vicinity. My head snapped to the mountain, and on top of the cliff I saw the Great Snow Ape, the Blangonga, peering over his territory. I could have sworn he set his eyes on me, before he disappeared behind the cliff.
I hurried inside the cave that would lead me to the heart of the mountain. The coat that I always carried around was sufficient to fend off the cold, though my paws were still kind of cold. I looked around the ice caverns; the beautiful refraction mosaic always transfixed me. I heard sort of a grunt nearby. Looking towards where the sound came from, I saw a group of bullfangos huddling in one of the corners. I let them be; One thing I didn't want was Bullfangos running rampart. I made my way through the cavern of ice and once again out into the snow.
The wind-chill was definitely worse up here; I had to resort to drinking some hot felvine tea. Tightening my coat, I was about to step further when I saw the Blangonga appearing around a cliff. I quickly hid. Around him were other Blangos, digging in the snow here and there, probably looking for food. I took out my binoculars to get a closer look.
Indeed, they were. The blango that was nearest to the Blangonga found a popo dandelion that, by the looks of it, recently sprouted, and almost without thought, offered it to the Alpha. The alpha took a look and snorted. I was too far to hear, but I saw the hot vapor come out of his nose. I took it to mean that he didn't want it because right after that, the Blango enjoyed it for himself.
It was touching and all, but being engrossed in the moment, I didn't notice the presence of another beast, the blangonga noticed it first. His head jerked up and looked across the snowy platform. After seeing this, I immediately took my eyes off the binoculars and looked where the Blangonga was looking.
At first, I didn't see anything, but slowly, a blue stripe appeared and with it a white glow, the Kirin. I just stood there gaping, at the presence of an elder dragon, and the most graceful one at that (at least to my opinion). I was so unprepared for this appearance that I almost forgot to hide. But snapping to it, I quickly ran to the nearest cover.
The blangos, by now, were gone and only the Blangonga stood alone. He raised his tail up high, and bared his teeth, snarling. It was a territorial display. This meant one thing: If the Kirin left, it would be over and nothing would happen. However, if the Kirin stood his ground, it was an acceptance to an engagement.
Accepting the challenge, the Phantom reared back and ran his hooves through the snow, his own territorial display. It was on. The Blangonga immediately charged forward, fist first. The Phantom nimbly dodged the blow and followed immediately with a thunder strike. The ground next to the Alpha was, in a split second, dirt and steam. The Blangonga seemed unfamiliar with what a Kirin was capable of doing; it stared at the ground next to him. The kirin took this to his advantage and rushed him. The Alpha jumped back, but not before the Kirin's horn took some flesh from the chest.
The Alpha took a look at his wound, looked at the Kirin and snarled baring his teeth. The Phantom in return snorted and ran his hooves through the snow. The Blangonga again started to run towards the Phantom. The kirin again jumped away, but this time, the Aplha wasn't fooled. He immediately made a sharp turn towards the Kirin and managed to grab him by the back and tear some flesh. The sudden weight made them crash into the soft snow.
The Aplha struggled to keep the Phantom in his grasp. The Kirin raised his horn up high to summon a lightning bolt. Realizing the danger the Blangonga quickly let go, a split second later, and his whole arm would have been fried (drools…. Blangonga meeeat). Luckily, the Alpha was able to get away with just a light burn to his left arm.
I looked back to the Kirin. The blood on his back tainted his pure coat, but it was only what made the Phantom angrier. Even from where I was, I could see the sparks flying all along his body. It must have been angered by that last attack. He reared his head up and swiftly brought it down, followed by a chain lightning that was headed in the direction of the Aplha, but unable to anticipate where the bolts were going to fall, the Kirin's chain lightning burned his left hind leg.
In response, the Blangonga lifted his hands up high and dug them into the ground. Without much effort he managed to pull a giant ice boulder out of the ground and into the air. The kirin nimbly dodged, but without much success. As the boulder hit the ground, a shattered piece of the ice struck the kirin's front leg, knocking him to the ground.
The Kirin was definitely angry. As it quickly got up it started to charge at the Alpha. In response, the Blangonga swung his arm to knock the Kirin to the ground. Not two inches before his arm hit the Phantom, the Kirin ducked and drove his horn into the Blangonga's chest. I thought it was over, but apparently it was far from it. With a new strength, the Blangonga grabbed the Phantom's head, and started to push back, while the Kirin held his ground and tried to drive his horn in further. But in brute strength, the Blangonga won. He picked up the Phantom and ruthlessly threw him across the snow, keeping a piece of the Phantom's cheek.
The Blangonga was definitely aware now that the Phantom's horn was what made it dangerous. With that new-found knowledge, that became it's next target.  Leaving spots of blood in the snow behind him, the Alpha charged towards the fallen Kirin. Ever swiftly, the Kirin leapt up and zigzagged away from the Alpha, and managed to again pierce him, but swiftly drew back this time. However, without skipping a beat, the Alpha leapt towards the Kirin's horn, and managed to get a hand on it, before another lightning struck and seared his right hand, putting it out of use.
It was another stare-off. One last time, the Alpha raised his tail, lowered his head and growled. The Kirin, sparks still jumping throughout his body, grunted and shook its head.
I felt a sudden chill. Although I didn't want to, I took my eyes off the intense battle to see what was going on. At first, all I saw was white, but then I realized. I quickly turned my coat over and ducked behind the rock. It was a burst blizzard (Note from Glyde* burst blizzards are said to be caused by Kushala Daroras, you can think of them as swift "waves of snow").  I peeked my head out of my coat to see what would happen. This was it.

Kirin Wins

Even through the thick wave of snow, I was able to make out the Alpha's form. The Phantom…was gone. I looked left and right to see where he was, without much success. Then I saw a spot that was whiter than the background. Immediately I knew it was him, but even so it was hard to make out. The white glow lunged forward, but it didn't stop at the Alpha, it went past it. It was then the burst blizzard was over. The Blangonga was unaware that the Alpha was behind him.
The Phantom raised his horn up high and swiftly brought it down, bring with is a rain of lightning. With deadly accuracy, the lighting seared the Alpha's limbs making them out of commission and burned his tail off. Yet, the Alpha still stood. The Kirin this time whipped to the front and with a final rush, drove his horn into the Alpha's heart. Though they were far away, I could hear the dying breath of the Alpha.
As a final move, the Kirin drew back and with a final raise of the horn landed a lightning right on the Alpha. With that it was done. The Kirin grunted once and started to leave. After just taking a few steps, he turned and looked at me. I think he was aware that I was watching. Shaking his mane, he started to walk away, and with a gust of snow the phantom disappeared.
The coast clear, I moved out of my hiding place. Amazingly, the body of the Alpha was still standing, a circle of stone below him where the lightning evaporated the snow. His charred body stood strong, a true warrior of the mountain. But the Phantom's cunning was unmatched in this battle. The snow was starting to bite my paws. I walked past the body and picked up the Alpha's tail and tucked it into my arcorn pack. With that, I took a last look at the battle monument standing in the snow. The elements were now free to do what they wanted with that body, though something like that should have been etched in stone.

Blangonga Wins

I didn't know what to expect, especially in this blizzard. The Alpha was visible, but the Phantom was hard to see. Alpha reared his head back and let out a might roar that forced even me to cover my ears. Then, out of the snow, a blango jumped out from under the Phantom and held his legs, making the phantom fall. Another Blango came from the ground near it and bit the Kirin's backside.
In a desperate attempt, the Kirin raised his horn, and called down the lightning. The blangos, unaware, were struck head on a fell inert onto the snow. The Kirin was too distracted by the small fry to realize that he had given away his position. The Alpha made his move. The phantom wasn't able to see the Alpha charging right at him. With full force, the Alpha tackled the Phantom causing him to fly far back.  The blizzard was over.
The Kirin staggered to its feet, its undying spirit refusing to give up. The Kirin raised his head up again and started a chain lightning in desperation. The Blangonga easily dodged as he was far enough away. Again the Alpha gave a might roar, and this time four blangos leapt out of the snow and advanced at the Kirin.
The Kirin hesitated, which ended up being its final mistake. While looking at one, the ones that weren't looked upon grabbed his leg making him unable to move. The Kirin was about the raise his head again but was stopped. This time, the Blangonga was able to grab the horn and keep it low. He commanded the other Blangos away and picked the Kirin up by the horn and slammed him down onto the ground where there wasn't snow but hard rock, breaking its horn.
It was over, either the Phantom's neck was broken or the nerve shock from having its horn broken, and either way it would have died. The Alpha gave one final roar, the Blangos jumping up and down wildly. The Alpha pick up the dead Kirin with its teeth and began to drag it away; it was a hard-won meal. Though I would have rather taken it to make a delicious meal, I watched as the Phantom's dragging body left a trail of pink snow behind it.
I looked up at the sky to see the sun breaking the clouds for a moment. At the same time I noticed that something was glistening in the snow. I stooped down to pick it up; it was the Phantom's horn. I wiped it clean of blood with the snow and put it in my arcorn pack. With that the sun went behind the clouds again. They often said that the horn of a Kirin was its pride. I had a feeling that the Kirin didn't want his horn disgraced and sent that beam of light that led me to its find. And with that I made my stroll down the mountain.
This is the long awaited (at least by some people) battle narration done by Glyde, my Felyne Scribe. I was finally able to get his lazy but to finish it.xP

And of course the split ending for those who don't want to be disappointed if one wins =P

I have to admit this one is longer than the other two that i have done, but just as good. whenever you have the time to read it i recommend you do so.

The preview picture was done by :iconbaka-saru89: who is a good friend of mine, I'm not quite sure if he's going to finish it, but it was he that inspired me to do it.

And those who read it, liked it, and want more, here are the scrolls to my other two narrations.
Rathalos Vs. Tigrex [link]
Kushala Daora Vs. Rathian [link]

Oh which reminds me, if any of you want me to do a "??? ending" let me know in your comments and i'll think up of one.
